About me
Starla spends her day at the microscope deciphering a piece of jewelry's history by adding up the clues from all its parts. Each piece she handles has its story. The metals it was created from, the gems that embellished it, and how the metalsmith put it all together with the technology of the times absolutely fascinate her. The discoveries, societal changes, and demands of fashion that shaped the design of the pieces add to the narrative. Narrative doesn't necessarily give a solid date of the piece but, by bouncing all factors together, she can at least give a circa.
Outside of her work environment Starla tutors for the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, plays a lot of soccer, and lives, loves, and laughs with her family.
