About me
Deanna Marsigliese is an Italian-Canadian Art Director, Character Designer and 2D Animator based in San Francisco, CA.
Specializing in storytelling through character design, Marsigliese has worked for Pixar Animation Studios since 2012. Her credits include Luca (2021), Soul (2020), Onward (2020), Toy Story 4 (2019), Incredibles II (2018), Bao (2018), Inside Out (2015) and The Good Dinosaur (2013). Marsigliese's creative process was also the subject of a celebrated Disney+ documentary series entitled Inside Pixar (2020).
Most recently, Marsigliese designed Anxiety and Ennui for Pixar’s latest record-breaking feature, Inside Out 2 (2024) and has contributed fresh characters to the Toy Story franchise, with the latest film set to release in 2026. She is currently conceptualizing on several exciting new projects, still in development.
A two-time Annie Award nominee, Marsigliese is also a proud member of the Academy and a passionate educator, having written and directed Pixar’s art internship programs, as well as piloting courses for her colleagues at Pixar University and The Walt Disney Family Museum. Marsigliese also served as the professor of Classical Animation at Seneca College in Toronto, Canada.
Marsigliese leads workshops and delivers keynote presentations world-wide and has headlined at numerous industry events including SXSW, D23, ILM, WIA, LightBox Expo, THU, Brain Bar, CineKid, Leaders London, The View Conference, RiseUp Summit, Pixelatl, Prémios Quirino and Romics d'Oro, where she was the recipient of the Golden Romics Award.
Marsigliese is a vintage fashion enthusiast with a penchant for very large costume jewels. When in need of inspiration, she explores; traveling the world at length with a surprisingly small backpack.
